Skills and Competencies
  • Preferred 3-4 years’ experience in risk/ business/ data analytics for P&C insurance, reinsurance, or insurance linked securities.
  • Experience in mathematical or statistical application for R&D, model development or solution design.
  • Hands-on experience with catastrophe risk models will be an added advantage.
  • Prior project / team management experience would be desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong database and data mining skills - working knowledge of Excel, Access, and SQL; VBA or VB.Net is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Python and R languages
Education 
  • Graduate from good colleges/university with excellent academic record or Masters in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operations Research/Economics
Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality analysis of claims, exposures and losses as part of model development cycle.
  • Understand the in-depth working of Moody’s RMS models including database schema to conduct the appropriate analysis.
  • Assess the quality of input data and be able to highlight potential improvements.
  • Generate relevant insights from various analytics involved for an analytically sophisticated peers.
  • Independently lead the requirements in terms of value-addition, process optimization and internal communication
  • Document all aspects of activity, particularly focusing on the rationale for decisions and exceptions.
  • Drive process improvements which increase utility or efficiency of analysis.

The Model Dev team is dedicated to both introducing innovative new catastrophe models and continuously refining and supporting those already in use. Our work encompasses the entire lifecycle of model development, from initial concept and design through rigorous implementation, testing, and maintenance. We collaborate closely to ensure that each model remains accurate, up-to-date, and highly responsive to the evolving needs of the insurance industry. By staying agile and integrating the latest advancements in technology, we guarantee that our models deliver reliable insights for risk assessment and management, ultimately strengthening the resilience of our clients against catastrophic events.
