Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with experience in expense recognition, accrual accounting and balance sheet management
  • Experience overseeing accounting operations including monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations and trend analysis
  • Proven ability to interpret contract terms including service periods, milestones, payment structures and expense recognition implications
  • Experience operating in a Sarbanes–Oxley controlled environment with strong focus on internal controls and documentation
  • Leadership experience providing direction, review and coaching to senior‑level accounting staff
  • SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori experience preferred
  • Experience with Blackline Task and Reconciliation modules preferred
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee SOW-related accounting, accruals and close activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective partnership with forecasting teams.
  • Manage day‑to‑day oversight of Senior Accountants responsible for accounting and accruals for consulting, marketing, subscription and licensing Statements of Work
  • Review contract terms to ensure consistent interpretation of service periods, milestones, payment terms and expense recognition across the team
  • Oversee development and review of monthly expense projections aligned with Statement of Work terms and forecast expectations
  • Review and approve monthly accruals and journal entries ensuring completeness and compliance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ensure strong controls over invoice review and matching processes including oversight of staff reviewing invoices against Statements of Work
  • Review Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet trends, challenge variances and ensure appropriate follow‑up by the team
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations ensuring timely clearance of reconciling items and completeness of supporting documentation
  • Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis on forecasting, variance explanations and completeness of the Statement of Work population
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex accounting issues related to accrual judgments and expense timing
  • Coordinate and review audit deliverables, act as key contact for auditors and ensure timely, accurate responses
  • Oversee monthly close deliverables for consulting, marketing and licensing expenses ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Drive process improvements, documentation standards and internal controls related to contract review, accrual methodologies and invoice oversight
  • Coach and develop Senior Accountants fostering technical excellence and consistency across the team
  • Support ad‑hoc assignments and special projects

Our Corporate Accounting team is responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and timely close processes that support organizational decision‑making. The team plays a key role in ensuring completeness and accuracy of Statements of Work across multiple expense categories. By joining our team, you will contribute to operational excellence and support the thoughtful adoption of AI-enabled tools that enhance forecasting, analysis and process efficiency.
