DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Quality Manager to join our team specializing in Quality for our Rebuild Workshop Department in Accra, Ghana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Raise plant-wide quality and reliability by directing multi-team execution on preventative quality, real-time issue resolution, and robust reporting - reducing defects, scrap, and warranty claims.
  • Sustain and elevate ISO 9001 certification - tightening process discipline and compliance with OEM, ISO, EHS, and MRC standards to protect certifications and customer trust.
  • Drive Right First Time (RFT) performance through optimized rebuild processes, mistake-proofing, and standard work - cutting rework, lead time, and cost per unit while boosting throughput.
  • Resolve complex escalations fast by leading rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and deploying effective CAPA that prevent recurrence and institutionalize learnings.
  • Build a high-performing quality organization - coaching leaders, upskilling teams, and aligning resources to meet near-term output targets and long‑term capability goals.
  • Standardize workmanship and audits - creating clear standards, layered process audits, and feedback loops that lock in best –in-class rebuild quality across sites and shifts.
  • Strengthen cross-business collaboration via Product Quality Council networking - spotting enterprise trends, sharing tools, and solving systemic, cross-functional issues.
  • Enable data-driven decisions by establishing dashboards and post-implementation reviews that track yield, cost of poor quality (COPQ), RFT, and customer returns - turning insights into continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Deep Measurement Science ExpertiseYou’ll need a strong grasp of applied metrology across disciplines (chemical, dimensional, mechanical, electrical, optical, radiation, etc.) to correctly analyze measurement systems, quantify uncertainty, and ensure accuracy throughout the full traceability chain.
  • Quality Leadership Aligned to COS & TQMSuccess requires the ability to embody and apply Cummins Operating System principles, translate them into Total Quality Management practices, and actively cultivate a high‑accountability, customer‑centric quality culture that continuously improves.
  • Strong Statistical & Analytical FoundationsYou must be comfortable using statistical tools, data collection methods, control charts, process capability metrics, and graphical analysis to diagnose process performance and drive informed, data‑based decisions.
  • Expert Supplier Quality Management SkillsYou’ll need the capability to lead supplier quality strategy, conduct audits, evaluate supplier capabilities, develop partnerships, monitor quality KPIs, and quickly resolve supplier‑related issues to protect product quality and delivery.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning - Leads the technical quality planning and ensures customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard.
  • Support Continuous Improvement through Lean management Initiatives – Ensures the rebuild center improves cycle times and eliminate waste.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical or scientific subject required.
  • Significant relevant work experience required, including managerial and budgetary experience.
  • Broad business knowledge required.
  • Experienced in Quality Control and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, with proven capability in certification readiness, audit management, RCA/CAPA implementation, and driving Right-First-Time quality in manufacturing aligned operations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
