As an Associate Legal Editor (Asia Legislation), you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing Thomson Reuters' authoritative legal content. You'll work within a global editorial team to deliver up-to-date, accurate legislative information across digital platforms, supporting legal professionals who rely on trusted, real-time data. This role blends legal research, editorial judgment, and technology to uphold the integrity of legal publishing in fast-evolving markets.

About the Role
In this opportunity as an Associate Legal Editor, you will:

  • Maintain and Update Legislative Content: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Singapore and Hong Kong legislation across all media platforms.
  • Conduct Legal Research and Analysis: Interpret and analyze new and amended legislation, assessing impact and ensuring proper integration into published content.
  • Apply Editorial Judgment: Exercise sound legal and editorial discretion to resolve ambiguities, verify sources, and uphold quality standards in published legal materials.
  • Leverage AI Tools: Utilize AI-powered research and editorial systems daily to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value-driven outcomes in content development.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with editorial, technology, and product teams across regions to align on content standards, workflows, and publishing priorities.
  • Adhere to Publishing Standards: Follow established editorial schedules, quality controls, and compliance protocols to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Develop Legal Expertise: Continuously build knowledge of legislative developments and legal trends in Singapore and Hong Kong through training and professional development.

About You
You're a fit for the role of Associate Legal Editor (Asia Legislation) if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for legal research, writing, and analysis, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong proofreading and editorial skills, with the ability to identify and correct complex legal inconsistencies.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word), and online legal research platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to urgent legislative updates.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment to interpret complex legal texts and resolve ambiguities independently.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with Singapore or Hong Kong legislative frameworks or legal systems.
  • Experience using AI tools in legal or editorial contexts.
  • Previous experience in legal publishing, compliance, or regulatory research.
