Payroll Transformation Senior Analyst

We are looking for a Payroll Subject Matter Expert to the Citi Shared Services Payroll Team, which is based in Budapest and is responsible for managing 44 countries’ payroll processes across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The Payroll Subject Matter Expert deals with tasks in day to day payroll operations, integrates in-depth specialty knowledge of the area and is able to solve complex problems. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills in order to exchange potentially complex and sensitive information.

Role Overview

The Payroll Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for the implementation of payroll projects for a set of assigned countries

• Execute process and technology changes in cooperation with the global project team and Payroll Managers/Country SMEs

• Participate in system implementation and testing

• Analyse and interpret data and make recommendations

• Prepare complex reports

• Review and keep the documentation of internal procedures and business requirements up-to-date

• Serve as subject matter expert for payroll technology within the team

• Manage and report system issues with transparency

• Collect change requests and prepare EPIC documents in JIRA for technology team

What we’ll need from you

• 5+ years of experience in a related role

• Bachelor’s/University degree

• Good communication skills in English

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel

• Excellent analytical skills

• Proactivity and working independently is a must

• Project management experience and Workday technical knowledge is an advantage
