Nestled on more than 1,400 acres in the Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is a track rich in racing history. It has been the love of NASCAR racing and the thrill of a great time that has made it a favorite of race fans and drivers alike for more than 50 years. Michigan International Speedway has more than 12 campground and is the state of Michigan’s largest registered campground. In addition to two great weekends of racing, the speedway is home to events throughout the year including the MIS Backyard Hockey Tournament, Faster Horses Festival and Nite Lites.

Michigan Intl Speedway is hiring for Front Desk Ticket Office Event Staff. This position will provide customer service, product upsell, and order processing via telephone, mail, and walk-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processing orders in the Ticketing System.
  • Making outbound calls to patrons as needed.
  • Day-to-day Admin Front Desk/Ticket Operations.
  • Greeting/assisting all guests.
  • Shipping/Receiving/Daily Office Mail:
    • Record incoming UPS, Fed-X and USPS packages daily & communicate to recipients.
    • Utilize SendPro online to ship all outgoing packages/mail as needed.
  • Assist with Event preparation for Ticket Operations.
  • Assist all departments with special projects as needed.
  • Some nights and weekends required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work within Web-based applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain spreadsheets and files.
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to provide a high level of customer service is required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Flexible schedule during event time.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the track location.
  • Pass background and credit screening.
