Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to assess portfolio, structural, and legal risks across structured finance transactions
  • Advanced cash flow modeling skills and proficiency with analytical tools, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop these capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce publishable research and present complex credit views clearly
  • Ability to develop independent credit opinions and defend views with sound judgment and integrity
  • Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborative and professional approach, with strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI
  • systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use. 
Education
  • Master’s degree in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering, or a related quantitative field with relevant work experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering, or a related quantitative field with seven or more years of experience as a credit analyst
Responsibilities

The AVP-Analyst will play a lead role in the analysis and rating of new U.S. Corporate ABS transactions, contributing high-quality research, independent credit opinions, and active engagement with market participants.

  • Act as lead analyst for new U.S. Corporate ABS transactions, including analysis of credit and legal risks
  • Model cash flows and review transaction and legal documentation to formulate rating recommendations and opinions
  • Lead rating committees and present analysis of transaction structures, legal considerations, and credit risks
  • Communicate effectively with arrangers, issuers, investors, and external legal experts
  • Represent the team in operational reviews, issuer and investor meetings, and industry events
  • Produce publishable research, including transaction reports, sector commentary, and in-depth analytical reports on industry credit issues
  • Participate in special projects to enhance thought leadership, operational efficiency, and digital enablement initiatives
About the Team

The U.S. Corporate Asset-Backed Securities New Ratings Team within Moody’s Structured Finance Group is responsible for assigning new ratings across a diverse range of securitizations backed by corporate and esoteric assets. The team delivers timely, high-quality research on emerging trends, engages actively with issuers and investors, and contributes to industry dialogue through conferences and thought leadership, while fostering a collaborative environment focused on learning, mentorship, and long-term career growth.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 - $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
