- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's in MBA or MSA.
- Experience in Sheets and other spreadsheet technology.
- Experience with ASC 606 implementation and business recognition.
- Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation. Ability to propose next steps and roadblock solutions and anticipate questions and challenges early, manage time, and follow work plans.
- Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement.
Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.
In this role, you will work on product areas - Google One, the subscription that gives you more storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.
Specifically, this role will help ensure the financial accuracy of the Google One and Photos Profit and Loss, build accounting processes to support the cultivation of our core business growth-generating areas, advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports
You will be part of the Platforms and Ecosystems controllership team dedicated to manage financial risks across systems, data, compliance, product launches, finance operations, accounting and reporting. We partner with the business to drive finance alignment and support for these dynamic and growing businesses.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Design, implement, and manage global processes for the accounting of Google One, including business monetisation and incentives, cost of business, operational expenses, and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis, product, engineering and other cross-functional business partners to define, establish, and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for Google.
- Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review and preparing/posting journal entries.
- Prepare and present financials to management and support with any ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or send out activities. Work with providers to send out established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities.
