Skills and Competencies- Strong quantitative background with the ability to validate and assess models and scorecards used in credit rating methodologies across asset classes with 0-3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantitative finance, model development, and model validation, including credit risk, counterparty credit risk, or market risk.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, and SQL, with the ability to work within established codebases; C++ knowledge preferred.
- Ability to analyze model inputs, conceptual soundness, performance, assumptions, limitations, and weaknesses with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex quantitative concepts.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Post graduate degree preferred in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic foundation in quantitative methods is required.
- Provide independent validation and review of quantitative models and methodologies used in credit ratings, ensuring robustness, accuracy, and regulatory alignment.
- Perform independent validation of models and scorecards used in credit rating methodologies, Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks, and artificial intelligence models.
- Assess model design, inputs, assumptions, limitations, conceptual soundness, and performance across multiple asset classes.
- Replicate existing models and develop challenger models to conduct sensitivity, benchmarking, and comparative analyses
- Design and execute validation test plans and prepare clear, concise, and well documented validation reports.
- Conduct ad hoc quantitative analyses to support methodology reviews and broader team initiatives.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines with minimal supervision, particularly at the Senior Analyst level.
The Methodology Review Group is responsible for the independent review and validation of quantitative models and methodologies supporting Moody’s credit ratings. The team plays a critical role in maintaining analytical rigor, model integrity, and confidence in Moody’s ratings across global markets. By joining this team, you will contribute to high impact analytical work across corporate, financial institution, structured finance, and public and infrastructure finance sectors.
