Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, with a focus on private credit, direct lending, or opportunistic credit strategies.
- Direct experience in a product strategy, investor relations, or business development role at a leading asset manager.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to distil complex investment concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to interact with senior stakeholders, including executive committees, portfolio managers, and fund boards of directors.
- Ability to travel up to 50% (required).
- Experience and comfort working through complex sales and/or fundraising cycles is valued.
- Familiarity with asset management platforms like Aladdin/eFront is a plus.
- Role is independent
Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
Bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is valued. CFA Charter holder status is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as an Industry Practice Lead (IPL) in Private Credit and Alternative Investments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in private market strategies, including direct lending, opportunistic/special situations credit, and structuring various fund vehicles such as BDCs, private commingled funds, and CLOs. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing credibility and confidence in Moody’s products with prospective clients through sales activities, thought leadership, and industry engagement. You will identify our clients’ needs and lead solution architecture to address these needs. You will also work with our internal partners to define the Moody’s value proposition, facilitate go to market activities such as internal training, and support product development.
- Driving sales and customer engagement: design, build and execute market outreach strategy (with sales, marketing and strategy teams); act as trusted advisor to customers; proactively work with prospective clients, providing thought leadership on best practices and technical assistance as required; use industry best practice to elevate the impact of proposals and proofs of concept.
- Industry engagement and thought leadership: develop and maintain industry stakeholder relationships; speak at industry events; publish thought leadership; maintain social media engagement.
- Market feedback for product development: translate emerging market themes and regulatory requirements into product requirements to future proof our solutions; identify valuable white space; build a business case for product development and improvement.
- Internal Education: conduct training sessions on customer use cases, workflows, and personas, our solution set and emerging trends; serve as an informal coach and expert to sales professionals, customer success teams, and market strategists.
- Artificial Intelligence: Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

The Global Sales operating unit is comprised of over 1,000 sales and customer service professionals serving customers across banking, insurance, asset management, corporates, professional services and governments in over 50 countries.
The Industry Practices align with our customer segments and consist of subject matter experts with significant experience from industry, as either practitioners, consultants, former regulators, or similar roles. Our team of experts are leaders within the industries that we serve, and each has deep knowledge and expertise related to the core functions within those industries. Functions such as lending and balance sheet management for banks, trade credit, master data management (MDM), supplier risk for corporations, and compliance for all segments. We work within the sales team to deepen relationships with our customers and with the product and strategy teams to ensure our solutions evolves with industry needs.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
