Privacy Engineer:

Watch this video to learn more about Thomson Reuters

We are seeking a Privacy Engineer to join our Data Integrity & Identity team. This role will drive critical consent management and enterprise identity initiatives that build customer trust through transparent consent controls and compliant customer experiences across Thomson Reuters' global product portfolio and digital touchpoints.

In this role, you'll spend your days architecting and implementing privacy-compliant technical solutions on an enterprise scale. You'll work hands-on with consent management platforms and identity systems, writing integration code, configuring APIs, and building automated compliance workflows. Expect to collaborate daily with product teams to embed cookie banners and tracker blocking, analyze consent data flows across dozens of domains, and design dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into compliance posture. You'll be the technical expert translating privacy regulations into scalable engineering solutions—one day mapping consent controls across business units, the next troubleshooting a failed consent orchestration workflow or scripting automated compliance checks. As you build, you'll continuously identify opportunities where AI and automation can accelerate manual processes, improve accuracy, or scale operations. This is a builder role where you'll create the infrastructure that enables Thomson Reuters to scale compliant customer experiences across global markets while positioning systems to be AI-ready for future innovation.

About the Role:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and automation technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of privacy operations
  • Build solutions that position consent and identity infrastructure to be AI-ready for future capabilities
  • Champion Consent Management Platform (CMP) adoption and ensure compliant cookie banners and digital tracker blocking capabilities
  • Execute technical integration between Enterprise Identity (EID) and the Consent Management Platform, enabling consent workflow automation and orchestration
  • Apply Privacy by Design principles to consent framework architecture and product integrations
  • Develop and maintain automated compliance reporting infrastructure and dashboards
  • Support domain scanning inventory capabilities and compliance monitoring
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Legal teams to embed consent controls and privacy requirements
  • Provide technical guidance on privacy regulations, consent implementation, and compliance requirements

About You:

  • 6-9 years experience in privacy engineering, consent management, or related technical privacy roles
  • Strong understanding of consent management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with API integrations, data workflows, and identity management systems
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Experience with web technologies including cookies, tracking pixels, and tag management systems
  • Experience with automation tools (Power Automate, workflow engines) or AI technologies (Copilot Studio, Azure AI, ML frameworks)
  • Deep knowledge of Privacy by Design principles and practical implementation
  • Experience with data subject rights (DSR/DSAR) processes and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Curiosity and forward-thinking approach to exploring AI/ML applications in privacy and compliance workflows
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy regulations
  • Hands-on experience applying AI/ML to compliance, data quality validation, or intelligent monitoring
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Familiarity with dashboard/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments
  • Prior work with consent orchestration at scale
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture, data governance frameworks, and building AI-ready infrastructure
  • Experience with intelligent automation, predictive analytics, or machine learning applications in privacy/compliance contexts
  • This position plays a vital role in ensuring our privacy compliance across our products and applications. If you are a creative thinker passionate about enhancing privacy by design, we encourage you to apply.
