Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross functional partners (Product Managers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Business teams) to build data products.
  • Develop, optimize, & maintain complex ETL processes for moving & transforming data.
  • Champion code quality, reusability, scalability, security & help make strategic architecture decisions.
  • Implement processes & tools to ensure data quality, enforce data governance policies & engineering best practices.
  • Develop APIs & Microservices to expose & integrate data products with software systems.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Must have a BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Electronics, or other quantitative field or foreign education equivalent & 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.

Of experience required, must have 5 years:

  1. programming in Python &/or Java using object-oriented programming (OOP) & good software engineering principles;
  2. building batch & /or streaming pipelines using complex SQL transformations, DataFrame manipulations & big data technology;
  3. applying data quality checks & building data monitoring solutions;
  4. leveraging Git daily to manage complex code bases;
  5. building CI/CD pipelines using at least 1  of the following tools: GitHub actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, Gitlab CI; &
  6. working in a matrixed organization preparing written and oral presentations to manager, peers, & business stakeholders.

Of experience required, must have 4 years:

    1. applying relational & dimensional data modeling concepts to build data products; &
    2. architecting solutions on AWS or equivalent public cloud platforms.

Of experience required, must have 2 years:

  1. orchestrating complex workflows & data pipelines using at least 1 of the following tools: Airflow, step functions, DBT;
  2. developing & deploying solutions using Docker & Kubernetes; &
  3. developing data APIs or Microservices or event driven systems to integrate data products with other software systems.

Work experience may be gained concurrently.


Additional Information

Salary Range: $198,410.76 - $230,000.00 per year.
