We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Global Compliance to lead the charge in ensuring Global Market Access (GMA) for our products. The ideal candidate must have expertise to ensure Shure devices meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and sustainability. This role can be remote or hybrid based out of our Niles, IL Corporate HQ.
- You will ensure the completion of all compliance deliverables for Global Market Access (GMA) of new and existing Shure products.
- You will schedule, coordinate, and supervise the testing and evaluation of products with respect to third-party Safety/EMC/RF & Environmental standards to meet all necessary global compliance requirements.
- You lead and support compliance engineering activities including risk assessments, design reviews, testing, labeling, planning, and execution.
- You are responsible for maintaining and continually improving your working knowledge of applicable product certification standards and requirements for new and modified product designs.
- You provide technical support to designers of new products regarding global compliance requirements and related processes.
- You lead international project teams to strengthen corporate compliance activities.
- You authorize the application of certification marks for Shure products.
- You coordinate company-wide projects with multiple business verticals to ensure product compliance with new or changing requirements.
- You develop and project-manage regulatory strategies, procedures, and controls for new products and/or business activities that require regulatory approval within global regions.
- You prepare and submit regulatory applications such as permits, licenses, certificates, and authorizations required by governmental agencies.
- You maintain records of Global Compliance, including technical details for multiple sales regions.
- You read and interpret standards and evaluate proposed regulations to advise management on their impact on the organization.
- You will also take on special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in compliance, preferably in Product Compliance with knowledge of telecommunications, product safety, and environmental related to multiple global markets
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to navigate international regulations and standards to achieve global market access
- Experience in guiding product development teams on design considerations and solutions to ensure international compliance
- Proficiency in creating compliance plans that addresses international certifications and market access
- Experience with RF, EMC and/or Safety standards
- Possession of project management skills, strong attention to detail, strong ability to evaluate, appraise and prioritize risk
- Good analytical, negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills
- Good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in computer operating skills in MS Office / Excel; experience in using SAP or ERP systems is helpful
- Occasional travel both domestically and internationally
