PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULTS AREA
Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements and other legally binding documents. This also includes development of templates/standard documents or adapting Visa U.S. and CEMEA Hub documents to local requirements.
Provide counseling and advice to Business teams regarding deal structures, contracts interpretations and common approaches.
Monitor regulatory developments and advise teams in Visa CEMEA, primarily in CISSEE region, about applicable legal and regulatory requirements in the context of Visa deals.
Where required, coordinate and supervise outside counsels for timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work product.
Proactively work with regional and functional colleagues on deployment of projects and initiatives.
Some travel may be required.
Role to be located in Visa’s office in Belgrade, Serbia.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• Law degree and qualification which allows for in house practice in the applicable jurisdiction
• Minimum 6 years PQE with reputable law firm or a multinational organization
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Transactional background with solid experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (in particular English law governed) with precision and attention to detail
• Experience in banking and finance, FinTech, information technology and payment industry advantageous
• Generalist (commercial) lawyer
