About the Team

At Medidata, Offering Management is a strategic discipline within the Global Strategy Organization. We are responsible for the full lifecycle of an offering—from initial market validation and investment logic to go-to-market strategy and customer value delivery. Our team serves as the business engine and objective voice behind the product portfolio, sitting at the intersection of R&D, Sales, Finance, and Technology.

While our partnership with Product teams is the foundation of our work, Offering leaders act as thought leaders across the organization. We collaborate deeply with cross-functional stakeholders to define business value, roadmap definition, and customer adoption; ensuring that Medidata’s offerings align with market needs, drive growth, and deliver strong ROI. We are the strategic partners who help the organization identify the highest-impact opportunities, determine when to pivot, and translate complex innovation into a winning market strategy.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Offering Management, you will leverage deep industry expertise to identify and validate new market opportunities, build compelling business cases, establish a go to market strategy and develop differentiated offerings. You will serve as a strategic leader for a portfolio of 10+ offerings, driving innovation, market responsiveness, and operational excellence to ensure every investment is backed by rigorous logic and cross-functional alignment.

  • Business Case Development: Drive development of high-stakes business cases for both current enhancements and identification of future opportunities within your portfolio. Support development and prioritization of roadmaps and minimum viable product (MVP) theses for identified opportunities, define value and support market testing, working closely with R&D, sales, finance, and product marketing.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the strategic thought partner between R&D, Commercial Sales/Enablement, and Finance. You are responsible for refining technical innovation into a value-driven narrative that resonates with an executive audience.

  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Run and synthesize primary and secondary market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and gaps.Translate impact of emerging technologies to support roadmap planning, commercial strategy, and offering positioning, and scalability.

  • Strategic Prioritization: Act as the final check on roadmap decisions, and document short and long term implications. Your data-driven insights will guide the organization in prioritizing highest-impact opportunities, including the decision to shift proposals that do not align with corporate goals.

  • Opportunity Assessment and Recommendation: Identify opportunities within the current go-to-market strategies across your portfolio and define an approach to scale or right-size our offerings. Conduct reviews of RFPs, Bid Data, and customer interviews to identify new product opportunities.

  • Develop Value Pricing Frameworks: Define the "Pricing to Value" logic for the portfolio. You will determine the strategic framework for premium price-drivers versus core value-enablers, providing the rationale that commercial teams put into motion.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a dynamic leader with deep industry expertise and a strong consultative approach to offering development. You should have:

  • Strategic & Consulting Acumen: 8+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, or SaaS Offering Management. You possess a proven ability to distill complex business challenges into actionable strategic roadmaps.

  • Life Sciences Domain Experience: Deep knowledge of the Clinical Trial ecosystem (Clinical Ops, Patient Engagement, or Data Management). You must be able to "speak the language" of clinical trials to evaluate product-market fit.

  • Executive Communication: Exceptional presence with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling business logic for an executive audience, securing buy-in for major investment cases.

  • Financial & GTM Logic: Expert-level experience in building ROI models, defining "Pricing to Value" frameworks, and diagnosing GTM gaps in underperforming product portfolios.

  • Education: Advanced degree (MBA/M.S.) in Business or Life Sciences preferred.
