POSITION SUMMARY:
Multi-skilled individual with primary responsibility to maintain equipment in a proactive safe manner; identify, troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical abnormalities on all factory equipment. Perform all preventative maintenance as scheduled to drive down performance losses and increase equipment reliability. Build operator technical skills and capability.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Maintain Factory Equipment –
o Identify defects, execute preventative and predictive maintenance plan.
o Work in various areas of the plant including: Process areas, Primary and secondary packaging equipment, Material handling and storage equipment
o Maintain Power distribution system (up to 480 volts)
o Control systems – Basic PLC I/O hardware troubleshooting, Motor, sensor, drives and Basic electrical circuits, Basic understanding of device communication networks
o Mechanical system – Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Mechanical Drive systems
o Troubleshooting and problem solving skills to maintain, optimize and improve production equipment, with key plant indicators such as safety, quality, cost.
o Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment.
o Use, validate, and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical)
o Understand factory’s key processes (including Industrial Services, Quality, etc.)
- Build capability –
o Coach operator skills- adjustments / changeovers for new and improvements in existing process. For example: new centerlines, improved cleaning process, improved changeover process, elimination of a Source of Contamination (SOC) or Hard to Reach Places (HTRP).
o Transfer of operational tasks such as lubrication and inspection
o Build technical procedures
o Train other technical resources
- CMMS system (SAP-AMM) – Access and utilize AMM to accurately document all maintenance activities in AMM
o Identify and create Work orders
o Perform time entry and technical feedback on work performed
o Improve Maintenance Plans
o Provide feedback to Maintenance Planner related to current line performance and opportunities to improve
o Review required spare parts to ensure accurate bill of materials
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High school Diploma or GED required
- 2 Years of Equivalent Work Experience AND/OR Two-year Technical Degree in Maintenance related area such as Maintenance Technical/Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, Electronics technology required.
- Able to work off-shifts, weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 10 hrs., 12 hrs.)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Mechanical Skills:
o Hydraulic
o Pneumatic
o Mechanical drive systems
o Utility Systems (air, steam, refrigeration etc.)
• Electrical Skills:
o Knowledge and ability to interpret National Electrical Code
o Power Systems and Distribution (up to 480V)
o Control Systems
▪ Basic PLC / hardwire logic circuits knowledge
▪ Motor Control Circuits
▪ Safety Circuits
o Instrumentation and Field Devices
▪ Analog and discrete devices
▪ Knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.)
• Other Skills:
o Familiar with CMMS and Production Workflow/Control systems
o Principle of operation
o Read and interpret machine, electrical and facility drawings
o Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial systems
o Obtain and maintain certifications required by Nestle policies (i.e. Arc Flash, LOTO, PTWs, etc.)
• Other Technical Skills (as required):
o Welding, fabrication and machining skills
May require internal & external certification such as sanitary welding, vibration, thermography, etc.
