  • Serve in a leadership role working on multiple projects building full stack development of real-time transactional services, RESTful APIs and Container based distributed services that are highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient.
  • Spearhead development of next generation software based on machine learning and deep learning.
  • Build products end to end focusing on unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration for excellent code quality.
  • Drive innovation that makes company products stand apart from competitors and benefit the customer with accelerated time-to-market delivery.
  • Understand customer requirements.
  • Build partnerships with product management to make sure that the products deliver real value.
  • Analyze business requirements and architect highly secure, robust, and scalable solutions.
  • Design and implement a prototype of a system or component with proper architecture and then lead or hand over to engineering team to implement.
  • Build relationships with key architects across technology organizations and collaborate on promoting architectural best practices across technology.
  • Introduce new technologies to build the next generation of Risk Services.
  • Champion efforts to architect, design and implement various components of our global transaction processing systems, including following and creating software best practices and processes.
  • Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
  • Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business solutions.
  • Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Fraud detection solutions, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology.
  • Leverage new technologies to build the next generation of Risk Services.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires the following:
    • REST API.
    • Programming languages: Java, C++, Python, and Go.
    • Container-based technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
    • CI/CD utilizing GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar,
    • TDD, Testing Frameworks, including JUnit, Mock frameworks, and Performance frameworks
    • Caching tools: Redis, Hazelcast.
    • Relational and non-relational databases.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $163,550.00 USD to $243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
