Summary:
In this role, the Associate Vice President, Enterprise Technology Services will lead the teams and systems that power Vizient’s technology ecosystem — advancing enterprise efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and integrated insights across the organization. This role is accountable for delivering secure, scalable, and connected technology services that unify data, analytics, AI, and operational tools into a cohesive enterprise environment. In partnership with product, engineering, security, and M&A leaders, this role ensures Vizient’s core technology services evolve in alignment with business priorities, enabling the organization to operate, innovate, and grow with confidence.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Leadership
• Lead and mature the Technology Foundations organization, cultivating a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with engineering, security, architecture, and product leaders to ensure foundational technologies are aligned with enterprise priorities and integrated securely across all domains.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Product, and Infrastructure leadership to support Vizient’s Product Operating Model (POM).
• Provide mentorship and guidance to managers and technical leads across multiple domains, promoting career growth and leadership readiness.
Enterprise Service Ownership
• Oversee enterprise technology services that support data, analytics, and integration services, including Power BI, SQL, SSIS, and related technologies.
• Ensure these enterprise technology services are reliable, performant, and governed by clear SLAs, KPIs, and lifecycle standards.
• Drive modernization and consolidation initiatives across the technology foundation landscape to improve efficiency, supportability, and cost effectiveness.
Change, Release, and Incident Management
• Own and evolve Vizient’s Change and Release Management frameworks, including CAB operations, release schedules, and automation standards.
• Integrate change control into continuous delivery pipelines while maintaining stability and compliance.
• Oversee incident management, on-call processes, and cross-enterprise technology service coordination for rapid issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
Software License and Asset Management
• Lead the enterprise software license and asset management program, ensuring compliance, renewals, and vendor alignment.
• Implement tools and processes for visibility, optimization, and chargeback models.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, and FinOps resources to manage costs and optimize spend across software, data, BI, and AI/ML environments.
AI Infrastructure Enablement
• Partner with Data and Architecture teams to build the foundational infrastructure supporting AI and ML workloads — including compute, storage, orchestration, and observability.
• Implement MLOps principles to operationalize model deployment and monitoring at scale.
• Integrate AI environments into enterprise governance, change management, and monitoring systems.
Financial and Operational Excellence
• Engage with the enterprise FinOps function to track and manage cost performance for Technology Foundations assets, including AI/ML compute, storage, and enterprise technology service services.
• Develop cost visibility models and reporting dashboards to support informed decision-making and budgeting.
• Champion process maturity through automation, observability, and metrics-driven performance management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
10 or more years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 5+ years managing technical or enterprise technology service teams required.
Proven experience managing enterprise technology services, data services, or infrastructure environments required.
Deep understanding of change/release management and IT service delivery principles required.
Strong experience in software license and asset lifecycle management required.
Excellent communication, people leadership, and stakeholder management skills required.
Experience leading teams through empathetic, accountable leadership that supports employees and promotes a culture of trust and care.
Experience with Azure ecosystem (IaaS, PaaS, Databricks, or Azure ML) preferred.
Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy) strongly desired.
Exposure to MLOps, FinOps, or automation frameworks preferred.
Relevant certifications (ITIL, Azure Solutions Architect, FinOps Certified Practitioner) preferred.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $156,500.00 to $290,100.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
