This role is part of the Collaboration Tools technical product team in the Shared Application Services organization. Moody’s is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in working with GitHub products. In this role, you will work closely with our developers and collaborate with users across the organization to create and implement new features and enhance existing ones.
A successful candidate must be able to work with vendor resources, stakeholders, and work with agile teams. On any day, the candidate could be doing any or all of the following:
Responsibilities:
• Managing configurations and day to day operations of GitHub products (GitHub Enterprise Classic, GitHub Enterprise Managed Users, Copilot, Advanced Security)
• Evaluating and monitoring the usage of GitHub features to meet team and business needs.
• Working with development and QA teams to enhance GitHub configurations.
• Devise, test, and deploy integration's between GitHub products and other internal tool chains.
• Create code repositories, manage code versions, manage and share code repositories.
• Setting up new users, groups, orgs, repositories, projects, and configurations.
• Troubleshooting performance and user access issues.
• Understanding and/or experience implementing automation procedures/scripts.
• Work with development teams to establish, promote and support GitHub best practices and guidelines.
• Able to work with development, QA and project teams to troubleshoot issues with their GitHub/DevOps solutions to achieve their CI/CD requirements.
• Monitor user activity and data usage.
• Provide technical guidance and support to users.
• Research and recommend new technologies, methods, and tools.
Preferred Skills:
• 4+ years’ experience administrating GitHub products (GitHub Enterprise Classic, GitHub Enterprise Managed Users, Copilot, Advanced Security)
• Proficient in one or more popular programming languages, such as CSS, Python, Ruby, Tensorflow, or others.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies
• Knowledge of script runner is a plus.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as an GitHub and DevOps Administrator.
• Proficient in one or more popular programming languages, such as CSS, Python, Ruby, Tensorflow, or others.
