As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building future-ready data architecture that powers segmentation, predictive insights, and campaign orchestration—helping shape Visa’s growth strategy across APAC.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design and implement robust data integration solutions that enable advanced analytics and decision-making. This role focuses on creating secure, scalable frameworks for ingesting and processing external data, with an emphasis on unstructured, text-based information.
Design and implement APIs to integrate external data sources into Visa’s internal systems.
Architect scalable data pipelines for unstructured text data, ensuring security and compliance.
Develop and maintain data integration frameworks leveraging the Hadoop ecosystem and modern cloud platforms.
Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate market intelligence needs into technical solutions.
Enable advanced analytics by structuring data for dashboards, segmentation models, and predictive insights.
Ensure data quality and governance across ingestion, storage, and transformation layers.
Additional Information:
- Working location: This role is required to be onsite in the Singapore office five days a week
Qualifications
Basic:
- Proven experience in data engineering with a focus on API development and data integration.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
- Expertise in REST API design, JSON/XML handling, and secure data transfer protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive) and Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Solid understanding of data architecture principles, scalability, and performance optimisation.
- Experience handling unstructured text data and applying NLP techniques for data extraction and enrichment.
- Knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI for data visualisation.
- Architectural Vision: Ability to design scalable, future-ready data frameworks.
- Problem Solver: Comfortable tackling complex data challenges with innovative solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong partnership skills to work closely with Digital Market Development Leads and analysts.
- Innovation: Passion for automation and continuous improvement.
- Business Acumen: Understand how data drives segmentation, GTM strategies, and campaign performance.
Preferred:
- Experience with Kafka or similar streaming technologies for real-time ingestion.
- Exposure to sales technology ecosystems, CRM platforms, and marketing data workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP; Azure experience is a plus).
