The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:
- Hands-on coding, design, testing support, debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery and deployment of Mainframe applications.
- Recommend system improvements that will add value to business users and improve system stability
- Support issues that arise in Production and join business calls as necessary
- Optimize mainframe programs for performance and efficiency
- Participate in peer code reviews and conduct quality assurance activities
- Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues
- Providing regular status updates to the manager and work with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of IT experience
- Technically sound in Mainframe environment covering COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, zAPI, MQ
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience in both Batch & Online process using above skillset
- Basic knowledge and Experience on APIs (JSON/REST/SOAP integrations with mainframes via z/OS connect)
- Good communicator and capable of handling stakeholders in other regions
- Exposure to wealth management platforms is a plus. Willing to learn new tech stacks in the future as we modernize the Citi wealth platform
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
