DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Logistics Site Manager to join our team specializing in Logistics for Cummins, Inc. in Portland, OR.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Overall Leadership responsibility of a small to medium Parts Distribution Center.
- Optimize Performance : Deliver exceptional performance on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by analyzing trends, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to address supply chain failures.
- Ensure Service Excellence : Meet and exceed Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments to General Managers, ensuring their products are distributed efficiently and reliably.
- Strategic Collaboration : Collaborate with colleagues in Global Materials, Transportation, Logistics Improvement, and Data Integration to develop and execute effective business strategies.
- Operational Coordination : Oversee essential business support activities, including Safety, Security, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Excellence, Sales and Operations Planning, Finance, IT, and HR, to ensure smooth facility operations.
- Financial Stewardship : Prepare and manage the annual operating plan, including expenses, resources, and capital investments, to support business objectives and ensure financial health.
- Uphold Company Values : Promote Cummins values on-site by fostering a positive environment focused on safety, ethical behavior, diversity, community involvement, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Develop Talent : Enhance supply chain capabilities by setting goals for employee training, development, performance, and career planning, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Align Supply Chains : Ensure that supply chains meet all customer and business requirements by aligning with internal business partners and advocating for enterprise Supply Chain initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Carrier Management - Develop a robust system for tracking carrier performance metrics such as on-time pickup, transit time, and delivery. Use data analytics tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Warehouse Operations - Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations. Focus on key metrics like inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and turnaround times.Regularly review warehouse processes and implement lean methodologiesto eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
- Project Management - Clearly define project scope and create detailed schedules. Use project management software to track progress and manage resources effectively.Ensure that the outcomes of your projects are fully realized by setting clear goals and following up on implementation.
- Supply Chain Knowledge - Understand the end-to-end supply chain and how each part interacts. This will help you make informed decisions that balance inventory, cost, and delivery.Be able to explain complex supply chain concepts to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. This will help in gaining buy-in and driving initiatives forward.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related subject required. MBA preferred.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Significant experience required including leadership, strategic, financial and functional acumen.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage all RDC site responsibilities, working collaboratively with the Parts Distribution Centers and downstream customers on process improvement opportunities.
- Manage the business to achieve all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and quality standards
- Lead the team in talent development and establishing the right environment for employees and the community
- Support the implementation and sustainment of Operations Excellence initiatives, driving site awareness and accountability for standardized processes, effective performance, and leadership engagement.
- Promote stability in the site’s HSE culture. Ensure conformance to Cummins HSE protocol, planet 2050 environmental goals, and legal compliance to local and state regulations/requirements.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
