Job Purpose
We are now accepting applications for a Safety Coordinator, reporting to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. This position is a salary role and to be considered you must meet the job requirements. This position supports the EHS Manager in monitoring the facility and employees to ensure safe, healthy, and regulatory compliant working conditions. The person would assist in developing and maintaining an effective, proactive accident and injury prevention program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Support OSHA Lead Standard Compliance including
- OSHA program development, maintenance and training.
- Coordinate Blood-Lead Reduction Program
- Perform Airborne Lead Monitoring
- Conduct Respirator Fit Tests
- Conduct Sound Level Monitoring and Noise Dosimetry
- Coordinate annual Audiometric testing
- Conduct Accident Investigations; Develop and Implement action plans to eliminate recurrence
- Conduct Safety Audits/Walkthroughs/Reviews; Develop and Implement action plans to address deficiencies noted
- Conduct Safety Training
- Track, File, Maintain and Analyze Databases of Safety/Health Training, Air-Lead Results and Blood-Lead Results
- Update and Maintain SDS Binders
- Develop, Coordinate and Participate in Safety Teams
- Develop, Coordinate and Participate in First Responder Development
- Conduct discussions with Team Leaders and Employees Regarding Various Safety/Health Matters
- Monitor Contractor Safety Compliance
- Point of contact for custodial crew concerns
- Oversee fire alarm systems
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- A four year degree in an applicable field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience related to industrial safety, or industrial hygiene in manufacturing facility or distribution center.
- Fundamental keyboarding skills and ability to understand various software programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, and PowerPoint is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A four year degree in an applicable field and a minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing health, safety and environmental.
Supervisory Responsibilities: May be required.
Competencies: Possess basic analytical math skills as well as mechanical and electrical aptitudes. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in reading, speech, technical writing, project management, spreadsheets, interpersonal skills.
Language Skills: English
Mathematical Skills: An understanding of algebra, scientific units, measurement conversions, and general equipment calibration techniques is required to aid in developing and carrying out monitoring strategies and tasks.
Reasoning Ability: Analytical ability to determine cause and effect relationships.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional Preferred
Other Qualifications: Irregular and changing working hours with little notice is required as directed to accomplish tasks on alternate shifts.
Travel Requirement: Some travel be required for training and certification purposes.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to work in a lead exposed environment and be qualified to wear respiratory protection.
- Work in a manufacturing setting with moving equipment and ability to traverse from plant to plant
- Visual acuity to view possible incidents or areas of hazard in order to recommend steps for correction
- Ability to hear alarms or alerts in first response activity.
- Ability to sit for a period of time while preparing necessary reports and collection of data for proper analysis of work environment
