NASCAR Foundation seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Director, Development, based in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.

The Director of Development will lead all fundraising and revenue-generating efforts that support our programs and impact in communities nationwide. This leadership role is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, individual giving, corporate partnerships, sponsorship activation, special events, legacy giving, and annual fund campaigns.
The ideal candidate is a senior fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing funding from individual donors, major donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners. This individual will cultivate and steward key relationships, oversee fundraising operations, and serve as an ambassador for the Foundation across NASCAR events and philanthropic engagements.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan
  • Oversee fundraising efforts to support The Foundation's programs
  • Develop, implement and monitor progress towards short and long-term fundraising strategies and goals
  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective funders and supporters
  • Maintain oversight of all fundraising activities, including special events, major giving, direct mail appeals, and corporate partnership initiatives
  • Serve as a public representative of the organization, including cultivating relationships with community members, including prospective volunteers and supporters, in order to build awareness of and commitment to the work of The Foundation
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by department leadership.
  • Participate in meetings, staff meetings, and other organizational meetings as directed.
  • Travel up to 20%, including select weekends during racing season.

Supervisory Responsibilities                               

  • Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required skills/experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of (8) eight years related experience and/or training in fundraising and management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.          Proficient in company-provided hardware and software.  Familiarity with donor tracking programs, including Raiser's Edge.                      
  • Proven track record of raising funds from diverse sources, including individual and major gifts, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Experience in donor cultivation, special events, contracts management and grant writing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accountability, measuring outcomes, and a results-oriented culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervision, administration and management skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Possess sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Possess resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
