DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Performs electrical maintenance and machine support tasks to ensure manufacturing equipment remains available, capable, and reliable. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment with limited guidance. Follows safe working practices while working with industrial electrical systems, automation equipment, robotics, and energy sources.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Stop work and report any major injury hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards as required.
  • Comply with Cummins HSE policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate PPE and promote interdependent safety culture.
  • Correct hazards within capability and minimize environmental impact.
  • Participate actively in HSE and safety-related training.

Quality

  • Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship in every activity.
  • Support equipment uptime and assist in downtime failure analysis.
  • Perform work per diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications.
  • Provide feedback to improve Preventive Maintenance systems.
  • Follow all process documentation and quality procedures.
  • Raise issues proactively to minimize cost and quality risks.
  • Perform quality inspections of completed work.

Delivery / Maintenance Operations

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  • Demonstrate strong competency in electrical and robotics-related maintenance tasks.
  • Execute preventive, corrective, emergency, and predictive maintenance activities and document them.
  • Maintain, install, and operate electrical and control systems as per codes and standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities around production requirements.
  • Reduce manufacturing constraints and enhance equipment capability.
  • Solve automation/robotics problems and improve processes through structured methods.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, performing routine housekeeping.
  • Perform other tasks as required to support overall business goals.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with peers, technicians, and support functions.
  • Complete required technical and personal development training.
  • Participate actively in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, processes, material flow, and technician capability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or secondary education certificate, or equivalent experience as allowed by regulations.
  • Licensing or certification may be required for compliance with export controls or safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Intermediate-level knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEMENS TIA Portal , servo drive handling, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong basic logic-building and analytical thinking ability.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, HIRA , and other industrial safety practices.
  • Knowledge of machine safety systems (added advantage).
  • Ability to perform Why-Why analysis and use structured problem-solving techniques .
  • Ability to identify and implement cost-saving techniques in daily work.
  • Hands-on experience with Yaskawa robots and familiarity with ABB/Yaskawa systems.
  • Experience working in Robot Studio or equivalent platforms.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in ABB or Yaskawa robotics (teaching, troubleshooting, maintenance).
  • Understanding of robot safety standards and regulations (ISO, ANSI/RIA).
  • Experience integrating ABB robotic systems with conveyors, vision systems, and PLCs.

Experience

  • Requires intermediate-level experience gained through education, training, or on-the-job exposure.
  • 3–5 years of experience in robotics (ABB/Yaskawa) , automation, or electrical machine maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation systems.
