Introduction to the Team:
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust machine learning systems, including hands-on work across model development, feature engineering, and deployment pipelines.
Lead technical architecture, system design (including low-level design), API design, and data modeling to deliver high-quality ML solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to define and deliver ML-powered features from concept through launch.
Apply best practices for ML development, including code quality, testing, and continuous integration, ensuring operational excellence at scale.
Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes, with a focus on secure and reliable deployments.
Demonstrate flexibility and expertise across multiple technical domains, enabling effective problem-solving and innovation in diverse environments.
Identifies areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements.
Recommends advancements, innovations and changes in technologies (specifically relating to machine learning engineering, ML platforms, DS models, enterprise information management, business intelligence and data science).
Compiles and reports on major operational or technical initiatives (like RCAs) to larger groups through written or oral means.
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Proven ownership and delivery of ML features and services spanning multiple areas, including model training, inference, and integration with production systems.
Has a strong command with Spark and how map-reduce works, how to evaluate, optimize, and debug Spark applications.
Has a strong command with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and Tensorflow and know common integration patterns for serving inference with them.
Strong technical skills in machine learning engineering, including proficiency with modern frameworks, system design, API development, and data modelling.
Familiarity with data access such defining IAM policies for S3 buckets.
Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing and operating large-scale, distributed ML systems within complex technical environments.
Demonstrated ability to drive architecture improvements and provide technical leadership within your team or domain.
Strong focus on operational excellence, including monitoring, automation, and incident response for critical ML services
Track record of using data-driven decision making to improve ML products and user outcomes.
Advanced experience with integrating and optimizing AI/ML-enabled solutions within machine learning architectures.
