DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Health and Safety Technician – Level II to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Florence, KY.

Job Summary:

Provides support on health and safety to production and site personnel under the guidance of the site HSE leader. Assists in the analysis, review and sustainability of Health & Safety Management Systems.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Bridge Safety Gaps

You'll identify and address discrepancies between corporate HSE initiatives and local policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing workplace safety.

• Promote a Strong Safety Culture

By building awareness and understanding of HSE principles, you'll help foster an interdependent safety culture where employees actively look out for one another.

• Act as a Safety Liaison

You'll serve as a key link between the shop floor and management, ensuring that safety concerns are communicated clearly and addressed promptly.

• Drive Incident Prevention and Response

Through active participation in hazard identification, incident investigations, and emergency response processes, you'll help prevent future incidents and improve response readiness.

• Ensure Accurate Reporting and Recordkeeping

You'll maintain confidentiality and uphold data protection standards while managing safety records, contributing to transparency and accountability.

• Lead Inspections and Audits

Your involvement in safety inspections and audits will help uncover risks and ensure continuous improvement in HSE practices.

• Support Corrective Actions

By helping close out corrective and preventive actions, you'll ensure that safety issues are resolved effectively and sustainably.

• Enhance Communication and Engagement

You'll communicate safety messages clearly and support employee engagement initiatives, helping to build trust and shared responsibility across teams.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

• College, University or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety preferred.

Experience:

• Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
