Role Overview

The Wealth Credit Services (WCS) team is an integral part of Wealth Credit Management (WCM) which is dedicated to providing integrated, end-to-end credit underwriting, transaction, and portfolio management. WCM partner closely with all origination businesses within Citi's Private Bank and Wealth Management.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our Wealth Credit Services team. WCS provide primary support to the Wealth Underwriting team, contributing significantly to deal closing activities, loan management, credit approval control, and credit activities that support underwriting execution.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Wealth Credit Services team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Transaction Management: Manage pre-closing documentation and activities for efficient and compliant transaction execution.

  • Data Integrity & Systems: Oversee credit data entry and maintain credit system updates for new credit lines, annual reviews, extensions, and amendments, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.

  • Documentation Review: Conduct thorough reviews of loan and credit documentation to ensure strict compliance with credit approvals, regulatory requirements, and accuracy of critical data for reporting purposes.

  • Covenant Monitoring: Track, monitor, and test financial and non-financial covenants to ensure ongoing adherence and mitigate risk.

  • Collateral Management: Ensure all collateral-driven requirements are met and executed.

  • Insurance Oversight: Monitor credit insurances, ensuring adequate coverage and continuous compliance.

  • Risk & Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and escalate credit risks and issues, collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to drive timely and effective resolution.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process and control enhancements across the entire loan lifecycle, from front to back, to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and client experience.

  • Project Leadership: Drive, and actively participate in strategic projects and working groups focused on enhancing performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Team Development: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and high performance within the team.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in loan products, loan operations, credit lending rules, and legal/credit documentation within a financial institution. Credit risk knowledge is an advantage.

  • Data Management: Proven experience in managing and monitoring credit and transactional data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Very good collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Communication: Very good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences.

  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, especially in documentation and data handling.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify complex issues, escalate appropriately, and implement effective solutions.

  • Partnership Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, productive partnerships with business line stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities can frequently shift.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in a large financial institution, preferably within credit lending, operations, underwriting support or risk management functions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • Language: Fluent written and verbal English
