Skills and Competencies
  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, delivering high-impact, multi-team initiatives with measurable business outcomes
  • Strong programming expertise in one or more of Java, Scala, C#, C++, and Python, with a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
  • Proven experience with data platforms at scale, including relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL data stores, with strong query processing knowledge
  • Expertise in building production-grade RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on scalability, robustness, security, and reliability
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native and on-prem systems, leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment practices for cost-effective execution
  • Advanced systems knowledge, including multi-threading, memory management, software design principles, architecture best practices, and writing well-tested, high-quality code
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and resilience, with deep knowledge of testing strategies, system health monitoring, and adaptability to organizational and technical change
  • Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency. Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization.
Education
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Responsibilities
  • Provide senior technical leadership by defining and executing multi-year engineering strategies that deliver measurable business and customer impact.
  • Define and execute multi-year, multi-team technical strategies that align with business priorities and customer outcomes
  • Lead large-scale, high-stakes initiatives, effectively managing complexity, ambiguity, risk, and quality at scale
  • Drive alignment across engineering, product, and business teams to prioritize work that maximizes organizational value
  • Exercise strong technical judgment to influence roadmaps, architectural direction, and strategic decisions across teams
  • Build and evolve robust, scalable software architectures designed to support growth, flexibility, and new use cases
  • Mentor and coach engineers across teams, fostering a strong growth mindset, technical excellence, and high performance
  • Partner closely with product leaders and stakeholders, balancing technical trade-offs, diverse viewpoints, and long-term versus short-term needs
  • Act as a role model by leading technical discussions, reviews, documentation, and change initiatives while embodying collaboration and Moody’s core values
