The Software Testing Process Improvement Lead will drive initiatives focused on optimizing software testing processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role is critical in shaping the Firm’s testing strategy and ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

The role also covers keeping up to date with the latest trends in software testing and integrating them into the Firm’s testing practices, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation. The position involves close collaboration with development teams and tool vendors to assess, evaluate, and onboard tools, as well as leading inner-source development of standardized frameworks for enterprise-wide adoption.

Key Responsibilities

· Strategic Leadership: Coordinate and oversee all efforts to improve and streamline testing processes within the SDLC.

· Tool Assessment & Onboarding: Collaborate with development teams and vendors to evaluate, select, and integrate tools across STLC stages.

· Framework Development: Lead inner-source initiatives to design and standardize reusable testing frameworks for enterprise-wide use.

· Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to development teams, influencing testing practices and promoting automation and efficiency.

· Innovation: Identify emerging trends and technologies in testing and champion their adoption to enhance quality and speed.

Skills Required

· Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.

· Strong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit).

· Expertise in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).

· Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

· Outstanding understanding of software testing methodologies, best practices, and STLC.

· Solid understanding of the different test levels and test types.

· Previous experience with test process improvement.

· Previous experience with tool selection and onboarding.

Desired Experience

· 15+ years of experience in software development and test automation within large-scale enterprise environments.

· Demonstrated experience in leading people and initiatives.

· Proven ability to evaluate and compare testing tools across various phases of the STLC, including functional, performance, security, and regression testing.

· Ability to define and apply standardized evaluation criteria (e.g., scalability, integration capabilities, cost, ease of use) to recommend appropriate testing tools and frameworks.

· Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD-driven environments.

· Experience defining test strategies for enterprise-level projects.

Desired Experience

· 5+ years of experience in software development and test automation within large-scale enterprise environments.

· Demonstrated experience in evaluating and comparing testing tools across various phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including functional, performance, security, and regression testing.

· Proven ability to define and apply standardized evaluation criteria (e.g., scalability, integration capabilities, cost, ease of use) to recommend appropriate testing tools and frameworks.

· Experience working in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD-driven environments.

· Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.

· Experience with cloud-native applications and infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and reusable test components for APIs, microservices, and user interfaces.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

· Conduct comprehensive evaluations of testing tools and frameworks across different stages of the STLC (unit, integration, system, performance, security, and UAT).

· Develop standardized criteria for tool evaluation, including performance benchmarks, integration capabilities, licensing, and supportability.

· Present findings and recommendations to engineering leadership and influence tool adoption decisions.

· Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, execution speed, and defect detection.

· Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of high-quality, testable code.

· Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in test automation and quality engineering.

Skills Required

· Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.

· Strong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit).

· Expertise in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).

· Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Skills Desired

· Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust).

· Knowledge of security testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).

· Familiarity with service virtualization and mocking tools (e.g., WireMock, Mountebank).

· Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

· Understanding of financial systems, trading platforms, or regulatory compliance requirements.

· Experience with test data management and synthetic data generation tools.

· Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).
