We have a new opportunity for a Specialist, Operation Excellence to join our Medical Operations team. In this role, the Specialist is responsible for the management and oversight of procurement activities, contracts activities, systems, provide support to budget activities and oversight of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the medical affairs operations. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Manager, Operation Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee procurement activities for medical affairs such as PO, ACR, etc.
- Lead and coordinate contract activities, including contract preparation, review, negotiation, and renewal processes. Administer and monitor contracts, including systems when applicable, ensuring all contracts are accurately recorded, maintained, and up to date.
- Oversight of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to medical affairs. Make sure that the respective teams follow their most updated SOPs related to their work, and that they update local SOPs when applicable.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and company standards in procurement and contract processes and all other applicable activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical, legal, finance, and compliance, to support medical operations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within procurement, contract activities and SOPs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support budget related activities for medical affairs.
- Support medical affairs activities, such as MLORC and CRC.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on procurement processes and others as applicable.
- Prepare regular reports and analyses on procurement and contract activities, systems, and other projects to inform leadership decision-making.
Education / Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master of Science degree with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Relevant experience with solid knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Previous related experience and proven track record in similar role (minimum of two to three years)
- General knowledge on compliance, procurement, contracting and clinical research in a relevant therapeutic area an asset.
- Previous experience in customer-interfacing role in the healthcare industry an asset.
Essential skills and abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).

The role requires a presence at the office every week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
