Job Description

Purpose: 

The oral migraine Franchise is entering a growth phase, and we are seeking an experienced marketing leader to lead and develop direct-to-patient solutions as well as other growth initiatives. In this high-impact role, you will design and launch new capabilities that redefine how we deliver value for patients. You’ll partner across marketing, medical, commercial, and enterprise teams to turn strategic vision into business growth and industry leadership. This is a unique opportunity to lead from the front, shape the future of a multibillion-dollar franchise, and build new best practices that set industry standards. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the strategy, buildout, and execution of key growth initiatives for the migraine portfolio, ensuring innovative and compliant growth. Drive forward resource investments as needed in partnership with oral migraine leadership and Finance.  

  • Develop, launch, and optimize new marketing capabilities designed to expand reach and engagement with the oral migraine community. Drive transformation at scale for new business priorities. Take and recommend appropriate strategic decisions and actions for the best interest of AbbVie and oral migraine franchise. 

  • Partner closely with Consumer and HCP leads as well as cross-functional Medical, APEX, Market Access, Patient Services, and agency teams drive forward innovation.  

  • Build and lead a high-performing team committed to excellence, collaboration, and a One AbbVie mindset in pursuit of brand and business objectives. 

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of portfolio growth and expansion plans, including setting KPIs, monitoring success, and optimizing based on data.  

  • Maintain acute awareness of market dynamics, customer needs, evolving trends, and competitive activity to shape business recommendations. Demonstrate ownership of results, with focus on resource stewardship, budget management, and sustainable impact. 

  • Foster innovation while ensuring rigorous alignment with AbbVie’s standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.  

  • Model AbbVie Ways We Work, championing a culture that empowers and develops people, celebrates success, and drives best-in-class execution. Uses coaching effectively and efficiently to create high-performing teams and elevate team’s marketing skills and knowledge.   


Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 

  • Cross-functional and/or similar experiences including field sales, finance, regulatory, research & development and other relevant business functions, like Managed Care, MABI. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree (MBA or related). 

  • 8+ years in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or consumer marketing, with experience in brand growth, expansion initiatives, or capability buildout. 

  • Proven track record of developing and scaling new marketing functions or large-scale programs in matrixed organizations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize insights and analytics into actionable strategy and operational excellence. 

  • Experience leading diverse teams, both direct and indirect, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture. 

  • Exceptional cross-functional and stakeholder management skills, including influence at multiple levels. 

  • Comfort working in ambiguity and change, with the ability to bring clarity and drive toward ambitious objectives. 

  • Background in digital strategy, omnichannel marketing, or new audience development is highly valued. 

  • Strong results-orientation and business acumen, including P&L mindset or experience. 

  • Deep understanding of compliance, legal, and regulatory aspects of pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing.

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​
