Introduction to the Team
Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.
Our Technology Operations team ensures the reliability and performance of critical systems that power our partner and advertising platforms. We solve complex technical challenges, drive operational excellence, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced, 24x7 environment.
In this role, you will:
Lead support of day-to-day operations in 24x7 production or equivalent environments on shifts including weekends
Lead investigations and remediations for high-impact, critical service disruptions and service enhancements
Drive and deliver complex, vaguely defined technical projects and initiatives by working cross-functionally
Provide technical assessments and mentorship to individuals and team members
Analyze operational data using SQL and Excel to identify trends, root causes, and optimization opportunities
Stretch into team leadership based on project and team needs
Develop solutions and implement best practices to prevent service disruptions and improve reliability
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure operational excellence
Experience and Qualifications
Availability to work on shifts including weekends to support 24x7 operations
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a technical field or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
5+ years of experience in technical operations, infrastructure, or related field (3+ years with Master's degree)
Demonstrated track record of delivering 4 or more complex, cross-functional projects or initiatives
Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting
Advanced proficiency with Excel for reporting, analysis, and data manipulation
Expert knowledge in multiple technical domains with proven ability to lead critical incident response
Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members
Ability to lead investigations and implement solutions for complex production issues
Preferred:
A+ Certification or equivalent
AWS Professional certification
AWS Specialty certification
