Job Description

Senior Manager, Business Strategy and Operations:

Watch this video to learn more about VISA

The Senior Manager is a critical member of the Strategic Initiatives & Transformation Office (SITO) within Global Client Services. This role is responsible for ensuring the end‑to‑end execution of technical deliveries across the CS 2030 portfolio — a multi‑year transformation program global program to enable and accelerate client success.

This leader bridges business strategy and technology delivery, acting at times as a scrum master, a product owner, and a strategic operator. They will ensure that technology capabilities delivered across all CS 2030 initiatives align with the portfolio’s strategic outcomes, support measurable business impact, and accelerate Visa’s broader Client Services transformation agenda.

The ideal candidate combines strategic acumen, technical fluency, structured problem solving, and strong cross‑functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Portfolio Alignment:

  • Ensure CS 2030 strategic objectives are reflected clearly in technical priorities, roadmaps, and capability requirements across multiple initiatives.
  • Ensure technology workstreams align with defined business outcomes and value realization frameworks for measurable impact.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Architecture, and Operations teams to connect business needs with technical execution pathways.
  • Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and integration needs across initiatives within the CS 2030 portfolio.

Scrum Leadership & Delivery Facilitation:

  • Serve as a scrum master for selected CS 2030 technology workstreams, facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and cross‑team coordination.
  • Maintain momentum by driving clarity, accountability, and decision‑making in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
  • Champion agile delivery routines appropriate for technology teams supporting large‑scale transformation initiatives.

Product Ownership & Strategic Alignment:

  • Act as the strategic steward for technology capabilities delivered across the CS 2030 portfolio — ensuring that all technical work aligns tightly with the CS 2030 strategic outcomes, value frameworks, and transformation objectives.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to understand the epics they define, interpreting these through the lens of CS 2030 priorities to ensure the right sequencing, dependencies, and alignment with targeted business impact.
  • Drive clarity on how technology capabilities contribute to value realization, ensuring that workstreams deliver measurable progress against the portfolio’s KPIs and leading indicators.
  • Represent the CS 2030 perspective in prioritization discussions, ensuring that technical decisions reflect the needs of Client Services, cross‑functional enablers, and the global transformation roadmap.
  • Bring a structured, outcome‑oriented mindset to capability planning — emphasizing business impact, scalability, user adoption, and integration across workstreams rather than day‑to‑day execution mechanics.

Strategic Influence & Cross‑Functional Leadership:

  • Operate as a thought partner to the Senior Director, Executive Sponsors and SITO initiative leads.
  • Bring structured thinking, frameworks, and strategic recommendations to guide decision‑making across technology, data, and process domains.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to ensure alignment, resource clarity, and effective governance.

Execution Excellence:

  • Guide end‑to‑end delivery of assigned technology workstreams, from planning to deployment to transition-to-BAU.
  • Create and maintain integrated delivery plans, operating models, and cross‑initiative dependency maps for the CS 2030 portfolio.
  • Monitor KPIs, performance indicators, and impact metrics related to technology delivery.

Communication & Executive Visibility:

  • Produce executive-ready materials that distill complex technical challenges into structured, strategic insights.
  • Provide updates, dashboards, and narrative summaries for CSLT, initiative sponsors, and enterprise stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in technology delivery, digital transformation, program management, or related roles, or 6+ years with an advanced degree. Demonstrated success leading technology workstreams for enterprise-level programs or strategic initiatives. Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Strong business acumen, structured thinking, and analytical problem‑solving. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including experience presenting to senior leaders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in agile delivery, serving as a scrum master or agile lead. Experience acting as a product owner or capability manager for technology or data platforms. Background in fintech, enterprise technology, or global product organizations. Prior roles in Business Strategy, Operations, Chief of Staff, or Transformation.
