We are currently seeking to recruit a Field Service Installation Engineer with an Electronics / Electrical background for our Flight Simulator Display Projection Systems. This position entails extensive international travel, therefore the successful candidate should be able to travel without restriction.
What You Will Do
Candidates can expect up to 75% of their time to be spent on multiple international sites
Typical installations last three to four weeks but occasionally six weeks or more as determined by the schedule
Demonstrate the system performance to Aviation Certification Authorities and resolve any issues in order to achieve “Ready For Training” qualification
Provide post delivery technical support in co-ordination with the Customer Services team
The role may include weekend work and weekend travelling as required by project schedules which does not attract additional compensation
Work at all times in accordance with health and safety regulations and procedures
Prepare the site in readiness for the installation including Risk Assessments, unpacking and auditing the shipment
Install and commission the display system
Commission the system for optimum performance
Undertake on-site testing and demonstrate the system performance including the Final Acceptance Testing with the customer
Raise Engineering Change advice and requests as appropriate
Complete the necessary project documentation and handover of deliverable documentation
Prepare and weekly site visit reports
Submit time records and expense records weekly
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
HNC or equivalent in electronics/electrical engineering or equivalent experience
Specific experience with the use of LAN Networks and Windows applications
Ability to understand Engineering Drawings and BOM’s
Able and willing to drive internationally
Ability to work at height from elevated work platforms such as scissor lift, scaffold tower and platform ladder
Qualifications We Prefer
Preference will be given to candidates with simulation industry experience of installing and aligning projectors and image generators
Preference will be given to candidates with experience of installing and commissioning commercial projection and display systems for conference centers, entertainment venues or educational venues
Good eyesight and color vision
Good written and communications skills
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word & Excel
