Responsible for leading brand marketing activities and driving business growth for the Neuroscience portfolio. Maximize business opportunities for AbbVie Neuroscience products, including the successful launch of new products. Accountable for achieving sales and margin targets while enhancing patient care through effective communication of the approved value proposition to key stakeholders.
Provide strong leadership through strategic direction, capability development, and deep expertise in disease, product, industry, competitive landscape, and company knowledge. Lead the brand team to proactively anticipate market trends and evolving customer needs, adapt organizational strategies accordingly, and execute impactful brand plans aligned with the overall vision. Set clear objectives, drive performance, and monitor progress to ensure delivery of results.
Execute global marketing strategies and messaging in full compliance with medical, regulatory, legal, and OEC requirements. Effectively communicate brand vision and strategic priorities to the sales team and cross-functional field representatives using clear and compelling written and verbal communication.
Develop comprehensive Brand Strategic Plans and financial forecasts for senior leadership. Ensure disciplined financial management by delivering results within the approved expense budget. Maintain continuous engagement with stakeholders to capture insights, understand evolving needs, and translate them into actionable strategies.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and manage the strategic planning process, provide resources to support the implementation and execution process, and drive financial processes across all brands placing the patient into the center of all efforts and operating within AbbVie business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Own Brand P&L and Financial Planning: Accountable for the allocated Brand P&L, including Financial Plan, Focus/Update, and Long-Range Plan, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with business goals.
- Develop and Execute Brand Strategy: Lead brand strategy development and execution, translating strategic priorities into actionable tactics with clear timelines, budgets, and stakeholder responsibilities.
- Drive Business Growth and Market Expansion: Maximize brand sales and margin through effective implementation of Brand Plans, successful product launches, and innovative commercial programs that address customer needs and market opportunities.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Provide clear direction, allocate responsibilities, and coordinate with Brand Team, cross-functional partners, and field teams to ensure consistent product messaging and tactical execution.
- Monitor Performance and Adapt Strategy: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and market feedback, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed to optimize results.
- Customer and Market Insight: Maintain deep understanding of customer segments, stakeholder needs, competitive landscape, and market trends to inform brand decisions.
- Promotional Materials and Compliance: Oversee development of brand promotional materials and internal approval processes, ensuring all activities comply with medical, regulatory, legal, and AbbVie’s Code of Business Conduct.
- Exhibit Leadership and Integrity: Demonstrate AbbVie leadership competencies, manage the business ethically, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Bachelor’s Degree with health care related background required.
- Neuroscience/ specialty care TA experience and MBA is a plus.
- At least five years of experience in Marketing, Sales, and/or other commercial roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including effective presentation skills.
- Must have ability to manage multiple projects/products/indications simultaneously.
- Must have effective financial, analytical and decision making skills.
- Must possess ability to be a fast learner, be creative, flexible with good negotiation skills and ability to effectively work in teams.
- Knowledge of regulations, compliance and legal standards impacting brand management.
- Knowledge of and a tradition of success in utilizing selling skills, high-level negotiating skills, and leadership competencies in a commercial environment.
- Proven track record of organizational savvy; organizational agility; and effectiveness at working with in a matrix organization (i.e. Brand teams)
- Good skills in MS applications (Excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint).
