Introduction to the team

Expedia Group’s InsurTech team builds insurance and risk-based products that help travelers book with confidence. As a high-performing product organization, the team plays a critical role in shaping how millions of customers experience protection across Expedia brands worldwide.

The team owns products end-to-end, from early concept and product design through supplier integration, regulatory approval, and global launch. Working closely with actuaries, machine learning scientists, engineers, designers, and commercial partners, InsurTech delivers complex, regulated products across multiple markets while leveraging data and AI to personalize experiences at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Own market and competitive intelligence for the travel insurance domain, including opportunity sizing, trend analysis, new concept exploration, and detailed product teardowns.

  • Identify and evaluate new insurance and fintech product opportunities relevant to the OTA ecosystem, from ideation through business case development and roadmap recommendations.

  • Bring deep AI and data science expertise to shape adoption of AI‑powered applications across shopping, personalization, and funnel optimization.

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to define AI‑first product strategies, including personalization, recommendations, risk scoring, and intelligent decisioning.

  • Use advanced analytics and modelling to derive insights, quantify impact, and prioritize opportunities with a strong data‑driven mindset.

  • Build frameworks for opportunity evaluation, experimentation, and ROI measurement to guide investment decisions.

  • Drive cross‑functional alignment across product, data science, engineering, design, and business leadership.

  • Create and deliver compelling strategy narratives, executive‑ready materials, and investment pitches that clearly articulate opportunity, trade‑offs, and expected impact.

  • Influence senior stakeholders through clear communication, structured thinking, and strong presentation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

  • 6+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, or data science roles.

  • Strong foundation in machine learning, experimentation, and applied analytics, with experience translating models into product capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in travel, insurance, fintech, or marketplace businesses.

  • Demonstrated experience in market sizing, competitive analysis, and business case development.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior and executive leadership.
