Position Overview
As the Distinguished Engineer, AI Transformation you will define and guide and accelerate the strategy for the rapid, responsible and outcome driven adoption of AI across Autodesk’s go-to-market (GTM) ecosystem. This role drives impact through technical leadership, architecture, and influence.
Growth Experience Technology (GET) builds the data, platforms, and intelligent experiences that power Autodesk’s marketing, sales, commerce, and customer success motions. In this role, you will help shape how AI is embedded into those systems, driving AI augmentation and automation that accelerate growth and deepen customer engagement.
As part of the Growth Experience Technology (GET) organization, you will extend Autodesk’s specialist ML and AI capabilities across a highly matrixed environment spanning marketing, sales, commerce, and customer success. Your focus is not abstract AI strategy, but translating intent into durable architectures, reusable patterns, and operating models that teams can adopt at scale. You will act as a trusted technical authority and accountable to real business outcomes.
You will balance strategic vision with technical pragmatism, leading the evaluation of build-vs-buy decisions and ensuring that AI capabilities align with both Autodesk’s platform architecture and business outcomes. This role requires a strong understanding of the embedded technology stack across GTM systems—CRM, marketing automation, content delivery, analytics, and experience orchestration—and how AI can be layered responsibly and effectively into each

Responsibilities
Define Autodesk’s AI Strategy for GTM Platforms: Build and maintain a strategic roadmap that translates AI opportunities into prioritized investments across personalization, conversational experiences, intelligent routing, and content optimization
Guide Build-vs-Buy Decisions: Evaluate when to leverage internal Machine Learning and platform capabilities versus external AI partners or vendors. Balance innovation velocity, integration complexity, and governance standards to make optimal investment choices
Guide AI Adoption: Provide practical guidance that enables: ML and AI practitioners to design and scale specialized ML systems where deep expertise creates differentiated value
Application developers to responsibly and effectively use foundation and commodity models within GTM platforms
Business users to embed AI into everyday workflows, even when AI is not their primary discipline
Understand and Influence GTM Platform Architecture: Develop deep familiarity with Autodesk’s GTM technology stack (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, Marketo, Gainsight, Segment, internal data platforms to identify where and how AI can be most effectively integrated
Operationalize Responsible and Trusted AI: Embed principles of transparency, fairness, and explainability into GET’s AI initiatives, in partnership with Autodesk’s Trust and Legal teams
Accelerate Adoption Through Reusable Patterns: Identify and codify scalable AI patterns—such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), recommendation systems, and conversational frameworks—that can be deployed consistently across GTM products and services
Measure Business Impact: Establish instrumentation, success metrics, and evaluation frameworks that connect AI initiatives to tangible outcomes like conversion lift, engagement quality, and customer lifetime value
Align and Evangelize Across Stakeholders: Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and GTM leaders to align AI strategy, communicate value, and ensure cohesive execution across the customer journey
Drive AI Fluency Across GET and GTM Partners: Create enablement programs, documentation, and forums that raise organizational understanding and ensure responsible, scalable use of AI
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
15-20 years’ experience in a software company
5+ years in AI/ML, data strategy, or platform-driven transformation roles, ideally spanning both technical and business contexts
Proven ability to operationalize technology in large, matrixed organizations
Proven ability to connect AI capabilities to business value and drive cross-functional execution
Proven ability to operationalize technology in large, matrixed organizations
Deep understanding of AI ecosystems (LLMs, GenAI, Information Retrieval, Knowledge Management an experimentation) and their operationalization within modern SaaS architectures
Familiarity with Responsible AI frameworks and compliance considerations
Strong analytical and decision-making skills related to build-vs-buy tradeoffs, vendor evaluation, and platform integration
Excellent communication and influence skills across executive and technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading AI strategy or platform development within large-scale digital, customer experience, or GTM organizations
Hands-on familiarity with Autodesk’s or similar enterprise GTM systems (Salesforce, Segment, Gainsight, etc.)
Understanding of ML platform operations, data architecture, and instrumentation design
Demonstrated success scaling AI prototypes into production and measuring their sustained impact
Expert in data-informed decision making
