The Program:
 

At Medidata, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For 12 weeks, beginning May 18, 2026, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.
 

About the Team:
 

Medidata's AI & Engineering teams are building pioneering AI capabilities based on the largest collection of clinical data in the world. Our teams are staffed with passionate technology and scientific experts looking to solve the most complex questions in the clinical trial study life cycle.
 

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will centralize and automate data reporting capabilities across the Virtual Twin Strategy & Ops teams. You will be focused on consolidating disparate data sources, optimizing reporting workflows, and building new and intuitive views using a variety of tools and technologies. Your work will directly improve how data is accessed and used across the organization, empowering teams with the information that they need to make important, data-driven decisions.
 

This role will report to the Director of Technical Product Management, and partner with cross functional teams including Data Science, Product, and Engineering in AI product development.
 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze Medidata's repository of historical clinical trials data using cloud-based technologies (AWS, Snowflake)
• Develop centralized data reporting solutions (dashboards, visualizations, automated reporting) to provide insights that guide the decision-making processes of partners
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather data reporting requirements and deliver solutions that solve for their needs
• Evaluate and improve existing operational processes through automation
• Document operational processes, workflows, and best practices, including SOPs and detailed work instructions

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's (business administration, management information systems, computer science, engineering, statistics or a related field)
• Experience as a business analyst, data analyst or product manager on a data science team or managing analytics for operational based software (e.g. CTMS, EDC)
• Can translate technical information and processes to non-technical audiences, and to describe business problems and use cases to technical audiences
• Experience in SQL and other programming languages (e.g. SAS, Python, R)
• Data visualization experience using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QuickSight
• Knowledge of ETL processes
• Familiarity with Cloud-based platforms and data storage solutions (e.g. AWS, Snowflake) 
• Familiarity with Atlassian product suite (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York, NY.  As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York, NY, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base hourly pay range for this position is $32.00 - 37.00 an hour.
