Job Details
Job Purpose:
As a Motion Graphics Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating animated visual content for all parts of the business as part of the in-house creative team.
You will report into the Design Lead and work alongside other members of the creative team to translate scripts and storyboards into engaging moving graphics across a broad range of projects for our internal client base.
From thumb-stopping social content through to campaign style pieces and product launches, you’ll get involved in various interesting and exciting projects. With a keen eye for detail and love of craft, you’ll know how to make even the most subtle movements turn static designs into motion graphics that get noticed.
You’ll partner with clients across the business to turn their briefs into compelling animation content. You will ensure each project is on brief, on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and animate graphics, videos and visual effects for digital platforms, film, or social media.
Work with creative director, design lead, designers, and producers to develop concepts from storyboard to final production.
Work directly with clients to interrogate and establish their brief while collaborating with other members of the creative team.
Work within brand guidelines, but know how to push and develop work that brings differentiation to each brief and continues to engage and inspire our audience.
Challenge our internal partners’ perceptions and show them what great animation can do.
Collaborate with the workflow traffic manager and producers to organise your workflow, manage deadlines and respond to feedback.
Ensure the work is delivered to a high quality within time and budget.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints in a fast-paced corporate environment
Share your expertise in motion with creative team and providing support and guidance where needed.
Experience/Qualifications:
You’ll have a portfolio full of examples of motion graphics projects that feature short form content in various formats for various media channels.
You’ll have produced high-quality content for a number of well-known global brands.
You’ll have had experience of working in a busy studio environment (either at an agency or in-house) where you’ve collaborated with other creatives to create some great work.
You’ll relish taking ownership and responsibility for your work from brief to final output.
You’ll be comfortable presenting your ideas to the internal team and also clients.
You’ll enjoy keeping up-to-date with design trends and developments in motion graphic technology - sharing what inspires you with the team.
You’ll be able to deal with the fast-pace of a busy creative studio and have experience of working on multiple projects ensuring they’re delivered on time and budget.
Skills:
Essential:
Knowledge of short form motion graphics and animation
Bring motion to static designs to make them stand out
Creating story boards to get across how elements will animate
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and responsive manner
Technological literacy - Adobe After Effects, Premiere and other supporting software from the Adobe Creative Suite
Preferable:
An understanding of what makes good social content.
Presenting work to clients is also a bonus
Experience with (and understanding of) financial brands and businesses is a bonus but not essential.
