You will be an integral part of the global Visa Government Solutions team. The role will be based in Colombo and report directly into the Visa Government Solutions Lead for India and South Asia.

What a Government Solutions Lead does at Visa:

Visa is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to join the Visa Government Solutions team within our Sri Lanka business. This role will focus on driving impactful, innovative and sustainable solutions for public sector clients, helping federal, state, and local governments modernise payments, enhance citizen services, and unlock economic growth. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong public sector insight, commercial acumen, a passion for innovation, and a collaborative mindset to drive outcomes across cross-functional teams and strategic partners. Responsibilities:

  • Identify and execute commercial opportunities in government led projects that focus on government payment flows, data and other government growth priorities to develop new business flows for Visa
  • Partner with federal and state government agencies to identify key pain points and co-develop high-impact payment solutions aligned with public policy and service delivery goals.
  • Engage and partner with issuers, acquirers, program managers, processors, fintechs and other enablers who will strengthen our government solution proposition. This includes working closely with Account Executives of public sector focus clients.
  • Collaborate with Visa’s product, strategy, and partnerships teams to customise and deploy scalable solutions for the public sector.
  • Support RFP response and commercial deals in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, industry associations, and ecosystem partners to influence digital transformation agendas and position Visa as a leader in the payments industry and a resource for government agencies
  • Continuously review market landscape across South Asia and recommend, develop, and implement new creative approaches to growing the Visa business in the region

We are looking to partner with governments around the world as they drive ambitious plans in a variety of areas to support economic growth and drive digitalization.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.


Qualifications

What you will need:
Experience in government/ state-owned enterprise/ public sector sales, with expertise in payments/ financial services industry
Active network in the public sector across Sri Lanka.
Robust understanding of how public sector sales and public agencies operate with expertise in navigating government agencies and procedures, including government procurement, government operations, public policy, and service delivery models.
Strong collaboration and relationship skills required to balance the need to both navigate and serve external client and partner requirements, whilst working internally with cross-functional teams in solution development and go-to-market strategy
Strong business development and consultative sales experience, with the ability to share with a wide range of stakeholders on Visa’s capabilities and produce business cases
Strong financial acumen and outcome oriented
Well versed with MS office and AI tools

Prior sales and consulting experience servicing government clients and projects
Specialist public sector payments infrastructure expertise is a plus
Solutions-focused mindset
Interest in emerging topics such as central bank digital currencies, open data/open banking, sustainability
