Job Details

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and enhance software application features, leading the creation of innovative solutions that drive technological advancements, improve user experiences, and support company goals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex software systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and architectural standards
  • Deliver features spanning both frontend and backend
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, product, and design to align on timelines and scope based on technical feasibility
  • Make effective trade-offs between technical debt and short-term value delivery
  • Own the technical design of major initiatives across multiple applications or systems
  • Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code, setting an example for coding practices and best practices
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance code quality and promote knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions
  • Drive performance optimization for backend systems, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and response times
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth and sharing technical expertise
  • Participate in architectural discussions and make informed decisions on technologies, design patterns, and system architecture
  • Research and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and practices
  • Contribute to comprehensive testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation guides
  • Support production operations by participating in technical support and release duty rotations

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have 7+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Are proficient in backend programming languages (e.g. Python) and frontend technologies (e.g. React)
  • Have a strong understanding of backend and frontend architecture and development methodologies
  • Have experience leading complex projects with both backend and frontend development
  • Are skilled in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
  • Are open-minded and continuously seek to learn and adopt new tools and methodologies
  • Can troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Communicate effectively for cross-functional collaboration
  • Are passionate about continuous learning and technology trends
  • Can mentor and guide engineers in development
  • Are familiar with relevant frameworks and libraries
  • Have exposure to cloud platforms and deployment practices
  • Are passionate about producing meaningful products that make a positive difference

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with frontend design principles and user experience (UX)
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Knowledge of security principles and best practices
  • Exposure to cloud-native development and containerization
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and practices
  • Exposure to agile development methodologies
  • Experience managing other engineers
  • Understanding of emerging AI technologies and ability to apply them effectively and responsibly

Total Compensation

The starting salary for this position is $160,000 - $185,000.
