Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) is a full-service security and investigative team that protects the assets, integrity and reputation of Citi and its clients.

CSIS Crisis Management is responsible for designing and maintaining Citi’s all-threats Crisis Management program and providing strategies for businesses to use to protect staff and mitigate risk during a crisis event as well as complying with applicable legislation, regulations and codes. The program covers the complete crisis management lifecycle from Readiness to Response through to Recovery and Review and is activated during crisis events to provide notifications, escalation, and coordination of Citi corporate resources to help resolve emergencies.

CSIS Crisis Management is building out a team in Charlotte and is looking for an experienced professional to join the Citi’s global Crisis Management group. This Crisis Management role is a critical leadership position for Citi reporting to and acting as a deputy of the global Head of Crisis Management. We are looking for someone with significant experience managing crisis events with multi-country impact as well as someone with a deep understanding of the governance structures and business segments of a global financial institution.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Subject matter lead on day-to-day functions of global crisis management, across multiple locations and jurisdictions in which Citi has a business presence/operation
  • Line manage geographical Crisis Management Execution Leads
  • Maintain the global Crisis Management Plans and other required components in accordance with Citi’s Crisis Management program
  • Oversee, and direct operational processes performed by senior Crisis Management Teams comprised of business and function heads
  • Act as Crisis Commander during crisis events, to ensure Citi's Crisis Management program is executed
  • Engage with CSIS’s Intelligence and security functions, Enterprise Resiliency and business leaders as threats emerge
  • Drive consistency of protocol responses and dissemination of critical decision-making information through adherence to the program
  • Lead on response plans and training exercises to improve organizational response to events and emerging threats
  • Drive continuous improvement for global crisis response through Post-Crisis review and reflection
  • Act on behalf and with the authority of Citi’s Global Head of Crisis Management, as required


Qualifications:

This role is an advanced position requiring proven experience in crisis management, including governance and policy-related aspects. If you have the following, we would like to talk to you:

  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrable involvement leading crisis management, operational resilience, business continuity and or operational risk management, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience, preferably in the financial services sector
  • Experience of managing crisis events with multi-country impact
  • Industry recognized qualifications in crisis management would be an advantage
  • Ability to bring compassion in leadership to crisis management
  • Experience of best practices of in-crisis communications and experience of enterprise level Crisis Management exercising and education programs
  • Deep understanding of the governance structures and business segments of a global financial institution is a significant advantage
  • Self-starter and resourceful individual, able to work effectively in a highly dynamic, complex, and stressful environment with the ability to brief executive leadership and Citi Boards at any time
  • Have led and influenced senior executives across an organization using sound judgment, successful execution of strategies; and with an understanding of how to operate effectively across diverse businesses/resources
  • Experience of working with virtual global teams within a matrix organization
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deliverables as well as changing priorities concurrently
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and display an ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels in the organization
  • Effective strategic planning and execution abilities
  • Have the ability to liaise  with local and international public safety and senior industry representatives
  • Knowledge and understanding of global risk environments along with the ability to effectively apply appropriate crisis response protocols to mitigate or react to those risks, as needed
  • Must be flexible and be able to work traditional and non-traditional work hours as so determined by an event or circumstances
  • Demonstrated managerial experience creating inclusive work environments and developing diverse teams


Education:

  • Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

This role will be hybrid and require three days in office at location 11225 N, Community House Road Charlotte, NC 28277, once the facility opens Q2 2026.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
