The Venture Investing team focuses on identifying and investing in entrepreneurs whose unique approach to core challenges will help define the future of financial services. The team brings together Citi’s business needs with portfolio companies’ technologies, services and business models to accelerate Citi’s ability to evolve in a dynamic marketplace and help portfolio companies scale.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to (a) source, diligence and execute investments in top-tier Enterprise startups, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (b) research and build thought leadership in new areas of strategic importance to financial services and (c) work with Citi’s business units and functions to drive partnerships between startups and Citi. This role will report to a Managing Director at Citi Ventures.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, source, screen and manage investment opportunities in leading AI startups by conducting targeted research, strategic outreach, and fostering relationships with entrepreneurs and venture capital firms.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for prospective investments.
- Develop investment decks, financial models, and comprehensive deal memos.
- Drive end-to end execution of investment deals within the established Citi Ventures investment process.
- Facilitate growth and commercialization of portfolio startups by orchestrating strategic introductions within Citi’s businesses and functions.
- Provide strategic post-investment support to portfolio companies in areas such as business development, sales, talent acquisition, and product strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand priorities and technology roadmaps.
- Develop and deliver presentations on emerging industry trends and organize knowledge-sharing sessions and startup workshops for internal colleagues and select clients.
- Organize and attend venture capital and startup ecosystem events.
- Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience with at least 2 years of experience working in venture investing within a venture capital, growth equity or corporate venture investing firm.
- Demonstrated passion for and deep understanding of Enterprise Technology.
- Self-motivated with a strong capacity for autonomous work and initiative.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling effective partnership across Citi Ventures and the broader Citi organization.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate well and engage in constructive debate.
- Possesses the maturity and gravitas to engage and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stake holders.
- Proven ability to effectively operate and achieve objectives within a complex, large-scale financial services organization.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
