NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, Financial Reporting in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Summary:

The Manager, Financial Reporting supports the preparation of consolidated external financial statements, quarterly compliance reporting, and other financial deliverables. This role assists in technical accounting research, Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) management, and regulatory compliance reporting. The position provides critical support to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, and collaborates across multiple departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
  • Perform assigned aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare quarterly debt compliance packages.
  • Support technical accounting research, including gathering facts, drafting memoranda, and preparing entries based on conclusions reached in collaboration with Sr. Manager.
  • Maintain and update components of the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare regulatory compliance reports, including government and industry census filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations during audits and reviews.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the financial reporting and compliance functions and assist in implementation.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Tax, and other finance teams on financial reporting, operational, and analytical needs.
  • Handle special projects as requested.

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive financial reporting or related experience, including at least two (2) years in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting. 
  • Proven experience navigating projects, researching new accounting standards, and driving process improvements. 
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and reasoning ability.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Workday preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines with professionalism and teamwork.
