Job Description

Purpose Statement As an In-Field Medical Advisor, you will serve as the Therapy Area (TA) and relevant product(s) expert for key stakeholders across Ireland. You will be responsible for developing and building strong networks with healthcare professionals (HCPs), ensuring up-to-date medical and clinical expertise is delivered to support the success of our products and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong networks with medical Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the therapeutic area, gathering insights and feedback from the HCP community.
  • Develop and implement the medical strategy for the brand, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Sales.
  • Partner with clinical trial operations to evaluate and support new studies in Ireland, taking local requirements into account.
  • Deliver an effective Medical Affairs Plan and support strategy execution for the brand.
  • Review promotional materials and company-sponsored activities to ensure alignment with IPHA Code and Company SOPs.
  • Provide medical contributions to Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Information teams as appropriate.
  • Deliver scientific support and training to internal teams and interns.
  • Organise and lead advisory boards, educational meetings, and one-to-one engagements with HCPs at the local level.
  • Support HCPs in bridging/compassionate use programmes, where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, such as PhD, Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Integrated Masters in Pharmacy, Registered Nurse, or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in clinical trials or medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated self-leadership with a strong team-player approach.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements, and experience in protocol development is an advantage.
  • Expertise in a relevant therapeutic specialty, or ability to quickly gain expertise and process medical information.
  • Adaptability with strong capability to manage ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Sound business acumen/understanding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
