The Manager, Strategic Regulatory Expansion acts as a key stakeholder required to enable Visa’s global expansion ambitions and market-specific regulatory mobilisation reporting to the Head of Strategic Regulatory Expansion. This role will assist in delivering our strategic approach to group wide policy management and conduct assessments on new regulatory obligations for new growth markets. We are seeking a compliance professional that is ready to apply their regulatory, compliance and operational expertise to assist in guiding the design and implementation of market expansion activities that accelerate growth and revenue for Visa Direct.
The candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is able to conducted detailed research and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation and externally, with the ability to influence and drive delivery and execution. The individual will help to drive Visa’s regulatory expansion globally, as well as partner across innovative and strategic projects that seek to diversify Visa’s core capabilities and addressable market.
The successful candidate will work on a portfolio of high-profile initiatives across regulatory expansion and will need to partner with global teams and external advisors to identify and mobilise delivery. The candidate will be able to think innovatively to accelerate delivery and will be expected to deliver on both short- and medium-term strategies for project completion.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assist on policy implementation and uplift for new expansion growth markets and associated regulatory examinations.
- Act as a stakeholder manager to global and local risk, finance, regulatory, technology and Financial Crime teams to ensure any changes to policies and procedures required align to current BAU practices/note differences.
- Assist in the creation of landscape overview documents for specified future expansion markets, including regulatory market considerations and operational considerations.
- Consult on regulatory queries for expansion, including local regulatory frameworks, fitness and probity requirements, capital requirements, license application requirements, governance arrangements, AML/CFT obligations, reporting requirements and completing upstream horizon scanning for key markets of interest.
- Assist on the Strategic Initiatives horizon scanning forum detailing key regulatory updates which are key for expansion decision making.
- Collaborate with legal teams and chosen external consultancy / external counsel firms to ensure regulatory compliance with licensing-related activities.
- Partner with operational execution teams to identify local regulatory nuances which may require impact assessments and associated strategy plans for new or impacted operational practices required for regulatory expansion
- Assist in project management of Regulatory Examinations
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the financial sector, regulatory environment, and emerging fintech trends.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across multiple business areas. This individual should enjoy collaborating with people, enjoy variety, and is curious and analytical with a desire to make an impact.
- Experience in a strategic/compliance delivery role within the financial services industry
- Excellent research skills, with a track record of successfully defining complex topics.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with policy and procedure management either within a risk and compliance space or through policy inputs within current team.
