This is a Global Banking Services position at Associate within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products. Global Banking Services (GBS) resides within the Shared Services and Banking Operations Department. The team currently operates as a global unit with extensive communication between the various GBS teams, currently located in Glasgow, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Mumbai.
This role is to perform the full front to back process of opening and closing external bank accounts within the Asia region, predominantly in the China market. The role involves working closely with both internal and external (Agent Bank) teams to ensure prompt bank account opening and closing, adherence with market regulations and provide escalation in line with the agreed SLA-s.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo.

- Perform the front to back account opening and closing process for China / Asia markets
- Work with Internal Morgan Stanley Teams to complete the account opening requirements - including Legal, Global Network Management, Compliance and a variety of Business Units
- Manage the Morgan Stanley Signatory requests for Account Opening and Closing Documentation.
- Hand delivery and collection of documentation from domestic banks within China
- Understand Regulatory requirements in relation to account opening and closing (including KYC, AML etc.)
- Ensure continued adherence from agent banks against agreed account opening & closure SLA for each market.
- Partnership with a range of key areas, including Compliance, ORRC Client Money, Listed Derivatives, Cash Management, Global Network Management teams.
- Ongoing timely and accurate escalation to keep Senior Management and stakeholders updated on progress.
- Project Management: manage high focus account opening / closure requests on the back of key deliverables.
- Proactive identification of process improvements
Skills Required:
- Fluent in written / oral Cantonese, Mandarin and English
Sound interpersonal skills, freely develops networks, builds consensus and develops alliances across the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Risk awareness. The ability to react quickly to issues and track them through to conclusion
- A change agent - always challenging the status quo
