Primary Responsibilities:
- Working directly with our clients to help determine needs and solve complex business problems by performing the following types of activities:
- Maintain knowledge of current best practices and innovations in the Credentialing industry
- Work on Credentialing projects to create business process / user documentation
- Assist with requirements analysis and verification for credentialing projects
- Work with customers to reduce or stabilize current provider credentialing and enrollment activities
- Become a trusted advisor to our clients by:
- Learning, understanding, and adhering to credentialing best practices
- Understanding our clients’ business within the market
- Being transparent, accountable, and following through on commitments
- Communicating project status and risks often and early
- Document customer/client requirements through clear, unambiguous, concise and effective written and oral communication
- Develop, enhance and maintain planning models, surveys, and benchmarks
- Perform analysis for business process re-engineering opportunities and define, develop and document before and after process flows
- Maintain work papers, work plans, methods and results
- Develop job aids, training material and instructions for team members and customers
- Assist senior team members with project management duties

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in an operations role at a health plan
- 4+ years of healthcare experience in any of the following:
- Credentialing, Contracting, or Provider Relations at a health plan, hospital or provider group
- 2+ years of Credentialing software experience
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time as part of the Optum Advisory Services Consulting Team
*Travel is required for this role and typically our associates travel Monday through Thursday. Location of residence is flexible for this role: however, travel is a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NAMSS certification CPCS and/or CPMSM
- Experience with delegated credentialing at a health plan or hospital system
- Experience with provider enrollment at a health plan or hospital system
- Demonstrated business acumen & global mindset
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in team-based culture and fast changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex business issues and make strategic decisions

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
