Skills and Competencies

Required

  • Proven experience leading complex, consultative sales cycles and closing business within the public sector
  • Solid understanding of the Government sector, customer business drivers, and industry dynamics
  • Strong understanding of global financial services markets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver high-impact product demonstrations and present to senior executives
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to identify client needs and recommend tailored solutions
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Preferred

  • Experience with civilian agencies is a plus
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes
  • Willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) required, ideally with coursework in business, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end sales cycles, build strong client relationships, and deliver strategic guidance to promote Moody’s Analytics solutions within the public sector
  • Build and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Identify and qualify prospects, initiating new sales activity and managing the full sales cycle to closure
  • Lead business development within assigned territories, partnering with Solution Specialists to craft compelling proposals and targeted demos
  • Maintain strong client relationships by assessing needs, identifying gaps, and recommending appropriate Moody’s solutions
  • Provide client-specific product overviews and guidance based on a deep understanding of their business requirements
  • Act as a market expert, providing product and service use cases throughout the sales cycle
  • Serve as the primary liaison between client services, implementation teams, and clients on services opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Product Strategy teams to provide market insights, enhance product quality, and identify new revenue opportunities
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline updates for management
  • Represent Moody’s at industry and company events as needed
  • Travel required approximately 20–40%

Our Sales team is responsible for driving revenue growth by delivering high-value solutions and building trusted partnerships with our clients. We contribute to Moody's by expanding market presence through strategic business development, providing clients with data-driven insights, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance our product offerings. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work supporting public sector organizations with industry-leading solutions.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $135,700.00 - $196,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
